Team: Miami Dolphins
Sport: Pro Football (NFL)
Stadium: Pro Players Stadium
Head Coach: Dave Wannstedt
Super Bowls: 1973 Super Bowl
VII, 1974 Super Bowl VIII
Background: The off-season has already
been one wild ride in Miami. After going 19-13
over the past two seasons with no playoff appearances,
changes were inevitable to try and get the team
over the hump. After beginning the off-season
by signing coach Dave Wannstedt to a contract
extension, Miami surprised the football world
by bringing future Hall of Famer Dan Marino back
to the team as senior vice president of football
operations. Just as surprisingly, Marino stepped
down from his post 22 days after his hiring.
With their attempt to add to the front office
unsuccessful, the Dolphins turned their attention
to the field and completed a deal bringing Eagles
backup quarterback A.J. Feeley to Miami. Feeley
will compete for the starting job with incumbent
Jay Fiedler, who has a 35-17 record in four seasons
as a starter.
