Background:
The Minnesota Vikings are almost rid of the pain
from the improbable defeat at Arizona that ended
last season and prevented them from making the
playoffs. The organization is happy that several
holes were filled through free agency and the
draft and a high number of players spent their
spring at Winter Park participating in new strength
and conditioning coach Kurt Shultz's workouts.
Vikings players probably still have a bitter taste
in their mouths about how last season ended and
a trip to the playoffs could be the only thing
that will wash it away. It’s the prospect
of a greater success in 2004 that has helped them
move on.
